Ukrainian violist Anastasiia Gerasina was born in Kyiv. She completed her bachelor’s degree with Prof. Christian Euler at the University of the Arts Graz, Austria. In 2024, she obtained master´s degree in Specialized Performance, Orchester at the Zurich University of the Arts with Lawrence Power. During her studies, she succesfully completed internships at Musikkollegium Winterthur in the season 2022/2023, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich in the season 2023/2024 and Volontariat at Opernhaus Zürich.
Currently she is continuing her studies with Lawrence Power for her second master´s degree, specialising in solo performance.

Anastasiia has participated in numerous youth orchestras and summer academies, such as the Verbier Festival OrchestraSchleswig-Holstein Music Festival OrchestraDAVOS FESTIVAL – young artists in concert, Gstaad Festival Orchestra and the Moritzburg Festival Academy.
She joins regularly as a substitute at the Tiroler Symphonierorchester Innsbruck, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and Musikkollegium Winterthur.

She received important musical impulses from Hartmut Rohde, Nils Mönkemeyer, Micha Afkham and Yair Kless. And performed under the baton of conductors as Paavo Järvi, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, Lahav Shani, Christoph Eschenbach, Jaap van Zweden, Johannes Schlaefli, Holly Choe, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Michael Sanderling, Ton Koopman, Kirill Karabits and Christoph Altstaedt.

Anastasiia attaches great importance to contemporary music. She had the honour of performing “The Corridor” by Harrison Birtwistle at the Graz Opera. In October 2020, she participated in the world premiere of the opera “Populus” by Peter Jakober.

As she is also a violinist, she has joined the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl Orchestra as concertmaster and soloist in the 2019/22 seasons.

Anastasiia is based in Zurich, Switzerland.
